WE MEET OUR COMMITMENT TO CAGE-FREE SHELL EGGS

We meet our 2013 commitment to source only cage-free shell eggs, and commit to phase out the use of liquid (or pre-cracked) eggs by 2020.

President and CEO Eric Foss became chairman of our board of directors. Eric succeeded longtime chairman, Joseph Neubauer, who served for 30 years.

WE JOIN THE NYSE AS A PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY

We made our third debut as a public company on the New York Stock Exchange, under the symbol ARMK, making us the fourth company in U.S. market history to publicly-list three times.

OUR BOARD ELECTS A NEW CEO

Our board of directors elected Eric J. Foss—an accomplished global business leader and world-class operator with a long tenure at Pepsi Beverages Company—as CEO, president and member of our board. Eric succeeded Joseph Neubauer, who served as our CEO for 29 years.

WE ACQUIRE FILTERFRESH AND MASTERPLAN

We completed the purchase of FilterFresh, an office coffee service, from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and expanded our healthcare capabilities with the purchase of Masterplan, a clinical technology management and medical equipment maintenance company.

OUR TEAM PROVIDES FOOD TO TRAPPED CHILEAN MINERS

For 68 days, we delivered a constant supply of nutritional vacuum-sealed meals through a narrow tube 1/2 mile into the earth until the 33 miners were rescued.

WE BROADEN OUR REACH, ACQUIRE VERIS PLC

We grew our presence in Ireland when we acquired Veris PLC, a facilities and property management business.

OUR TEAMS PROVIDE FOOD & SERVICES TO HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS

We assembled hundreds of food and facilities employees from the south Texas region to care for nearly 25,000 displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina in the Houston Astrodome.

WE RETURN TO THE PUBLIC MARKET

We were listed for a second time on the New York Stock Exchange, where we remained until 2007. We also acquired ServiceMaster Management Services.

We evolve from ARA Services into Aramark to reflect the change in our business relationships and our commitment to serving customers with passion.

WE DEVELOP ARAKOR IN SOUTH KOREA

As ARA Services, we developed ARAKOR, a historic joint venture in South Korea with an affiliate of Daewoo Corporation that became the first major contract food service enterprise in the country.

OUR SERVICES EXPAND IN EUROPE AND ASIA

We expanded into the former East Germany, establishing contracts in Hungary and the former Czechoslovakia, and expanding existing business in the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and Japan.

JOSEPH NEUBAUER LEADS BUYOUT, SAVES COMPANY

After being elected CEO of ARA Services in 1983, Joseph Neubauer led a management buyout of the company in 1984, thus thwarting a hostile takeover and returning to the private sector.

WE ENTER JAPAN AND THE CAREER APPAREL INDUSTRY

A joint venture with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. positions us in Japan. That same year, we entered the work uniform rental and career apparel industry.

EUROVEND NV INTRODUCES US TO EUROPE

We broke into the European market by acquiring Eurovend NV, giving us food service capabilities in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium.

WE TRANSFORM FROM ARA TO ARA SERVICES

AS ARA, WE SERVE OUR FIRST OLYMPIC GAMES

We were awarded the food service contract for the first of many Olympic Games and served over 10,000 athletes, fans and officials in Mexico City, Mexico. Back at home, stadiums, national parks and convention centers across the U.S. hungered for a solution to their food service needs. We also entered our first domestic partnership at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium (now Turner Field).

We stunned the food service industry by acquiring a much larger food service company, Slater System, Inc., and moved our headquarters to Philadelphia.

The Davidson brothers and William Fishman combine their vending companies to create Automatic Retailers of America, or ARA.

Davre Davidson and his brother Henry run Davidson Brothers, one of the largest vending companies in California.

YOUNG DAVRE DAVIDSON SERVES OUT OF HIS 1932 DODGE

A man named Davre Davidson began selling peanuts out of his old Dodge in Los Angeles, and it laid the foundation for what would eventually become the standard in service excellence, Aramark.
