Aramark Grows its Healthcare Sector with Four New Contracts

Company adds new clients and deepens relationships with existing partners

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 27, 2015) – Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), the $15 billion global provider of award-winning services in food, facilities management and uniforms, is growing in its healthcare sector, recently adding two new contracts with Kennedy Health in NJ and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in TN, as well as deepening its relationships with two existing partners, Thomas Jefferson University Health System and the Einstein Healthcare Network, both in the Philadelphia area.

“As hospitals face continued consolidation and cost pressure, our business model helps them create a greater level of support service standardization and quality across their operations to drive not only financial efficiency, but also better patient satisfaction outcomes,” said Victor Crawford, Aramark Chief Operating Officer.

At Southern New Jersey’s 607-bed Kennedy Health, Aramark has a new contract to provide both patient and retail food service at the systems’ Cherry Hill and Stratford facilities and its Washington Township campus. The patient dining program at all three locations will undergo a transition to Aramark’s room service model, which works like a hotel, enabling patients to call in cooked to order foods from a full menu at any time throughout the day. The food services will also include Aramark’s Healthy for Life® program, designed to offer and promote “better for you” food choices.

Additionally, Aramark has entered into a new agreement to deliver a comprehensive healthcare technology management program involving biomedical, laboratory and diagnostic imaging equipment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The Medical Center includes the 635 bed Vanderbilt University Hospital, the 271 bed Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, the Psychiatric Hospital at Vanderbilt, the Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital and the Vanderbilt Medical Group of over 200 clinics, both on campus and throughout middle Tennessee.

Growing from within, Aramark expanded its services with the 951 bed Thomas Jefferson University Health System in Philadelphia, its longest running healthcare client, where it has operated since 1955. The new work scope includes environmental services, patient transportation and linen distribution services at Methodist Hospital as well as patient food and linen distribution services at the Health System’s Center City Campus and Hospital for Neuroscience. Aramark is also now providing custodial services at Thomas Jefferson University.

Building on its relationship with the 1,200 bed Philadelphia-area Einstein Healthcare Network, the company added clinical technology management, including: biomedical engineering and diagnostic imaging services at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery and Moss Rehab. Aramark has also introduced its new Vibe Micromarkets at Einstein, providing employees and visitors with grab and go food items at any time of day or night. The company has provided patient and retail food service for Einstein Healthcare Network since 2009.

“We are honored to partner with such an esteemed group of health systems,” Crawford added. “These contracts represent our full portfolio of food, facilities and healthcare technology management services, as well as growth from both new clients and with existing partners. When we combine multiple services at a single hospital or across a system, we have the opportunity to drive better performance outcomes than many hospitals can achieve on their own.”

Aramark’s Healthcare Sector includes a hospitality organization that provides hospitals and senior living facilities with patient and retail dining and facility solutions and a healthcare technology management organization that provides comprehensive healthcare technology management programs for biomedical, diagnostic imaging and laboratory equipment. Collectively, Aramark’s Healthcare Sector employs or manages more than 50,000 people serving more than 1,100 healthcare organizations across North America.
