Aramark Wins 10 Year Agreement in Germany to Provide Food Services for the Cologne Trade Fair

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 24, 2016) – Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities management and uniforms, has entered into a 10-year agreement to provide food services for Koelnmesse of Germany, the organization that operates the Cologne trade fair, the sixth largest trade fair and exhibition/conference center in the world, it was announced today. 

“We are very pleased to have earned the opportunity to work with one of the world’s most prestigious event venues,” said Aramark’s International Chief Operating Officer, Brent Franks. “We will be operating all restaurants and dining points on the exhibition grounds as well as providing all food services for trade show booths, events and concerts.”

Aramark will introduce new dining concepts with freshly prepared foods for the 40 restaurants and eateries as well as mobile and temporary stations. The focus lies on regional and international tastes and the latest in culinary trends including food truck offerings, healthy options, vegetarian and vegan options and soul food choices. Aramark has also partnered with a top notch regional catering company called Kirberg Catering to deliver high end catering for special events and functions.

“We conducted an intensive year-long review process and feel that Aramark is the right partner to maintain the high quality of food service for the Cologne trade fair and to deliver innovative new concepts into the future,” said Koelnmesse CEO, Gerald Böse. 

Koelnmesse’s Cologne fairgrounds features 284,000 square meters of space with 11 halls hosting approximately 50 full fairs and 2,000 events each year. Aramark will employ approximately 40 full time managers and nearly 400 seasonal employees. The contract will begin January 1, 2017.
